Kicking It All Off (?) With A CONTEST! FREE SIGNED BOOK!!!

Well, I'm not quite sure what's happening with this site, are you? No? Hell, that makes two of us then! So let me tell ya what I do know...

1 - I miss talking books.
2 - I've been a reading fiend.
3 - I've missed talking books.
4 - I missed giving away great books even more!
5 - I've missed talking books.

Get the theme? Anyway, I've stayed fairly silent throughout all of the blog-o-sphere lately, and I realized, that even if I don't blog on my personal blogs anymore, I want to blog on my reading blog (oh hush, I MEANT this to be a reading blog) and things have worked out in my personal life that I'll have the evenings to do just that! So, in an effort to get myself in gear, I'm kicking off a contest.

However, I must have at least 10 entries, or it's a no go on the give-a-way. I vow, right here and now, that I will post every other day, for the duration of one week. If in that time, we have accumulated 10 entries, and I feel like I've got some interest in the new blog, I'll not only send some one a free copy of this great book but I'll keep on the blogging train.

If you're new to my style of reader blog, let me just enlighten you. I don't review. Well, maybe "technically" I review, but not really. Basically, all you'll get from me is how I felt about the book. That's it. For some insight into my past book talking you can search the archives here for anything signed "Take Care."

I have a ton of books that I've read in my silence, and in my way of thinking, well, better late than never. SO, let's get me motivated and give away a book in the process.

Notice that video at the top? That's me at the first ever signing I went to. That's me at the first ever signing I went to making a total fool of myself.

That's right. Me, Chari-Dee got to go to a book signing of the one and only Charlaine Harris! I bought THREE copies of her latest release FROM DEAD TO WORSE and one of them I had signed generic, for the sole purpose of giving it away on here.

So, all you have to do to be entered is tell me in the comments why you want to read this book. OR, if you already have read the book but just want a signed copy, tell me the reason for that as well.

Get to the entering, because in one week from today, contest ends.

Take Care

I have heard of Charlaine Harris and saw a flyer for her books and even went looking online.Being from Louisiana and went through both Rita and Katrina hurricanes I must say vampires loose and free to hunt in the City of New Orleans makes for great read.New Orleans had the vamp central stat for many years with gothic themes and tours galore.
Yes I love talking about books myself and when I found your blog I couldn't wait to enter this contest and say Hello.
I love to read also and find good reads hard to find at times. The sad truth is many books have more hype than true story.Lately finding a book to read and it being a good book is a true hunt.I read excerpts and watch trailers and then get the book.It falls flat in the first four chapters. Then a quick read like Harliquen puts the novel(I counted down to release)to shame. So yes please keep your blog going!!!!!
Have a Great Weekend!!!

I miss you talking books - so let's do this thing - and let's talk about how I can help you - Lord knows you have helped me out, you sweetheart, you!

I met Charlaine Harris last year at the Love is Murder writer's con in Chicago and she is a DOLL - she told us about working on an HBO deal based on her Southern Vampires and I just saw that it's coming out soon. Fun to have been in on the KNOW!!!

Glad to hear life is calming down a bit for you. I was worried about you there for a while :-)...

Email me when you get a second or two.

Charlaine Harris is a fabulous author, no question. She has a very creative mind and I love her books. I love this series and can't wait to read From Dead to Worse.

I have never read Charlene Harris yet. I read many authors and add new ones as I hear about them from other people. If people like a book and talk good about the author, I give the author a shot. I hear about most authors from Blogs that I read. I found yours from AuthorIsland.com. I learn many things from them and they have turned me on to several authors and other sites.
I wish you well on your blog. Be assured, I will be reading it.

I never got around to why I would like to read this book by Charlaine Harris. (Sorry, I spelled it wrong in above post) I have never read her. I would like to get into her but do not know if the book will be good and if I will like her style of writing. When I find an author I like, I buy everything that I can get my hands on by them but I hate to purchase a book and then find out I do not like how the author writes and that I can't finish the book. The book sounds good and that it would be something that I like.

I'd love to win this book, because Charlaine Harris is one of my favorite recently discovered authors. I've read all the books in the series up to this one, and I read a terrific review of it online. Sookie is a great character, and it seems like some of the problems I had with recent installments of the series are going to be fixed in this one (I'm vague so as not to share the spoilers I read). So I'm really looking forward to reading this one!

I've not yet had a chance to read Charlaine Harris, but I've heard so much about this series I am dying to read her books! I'd love to win FROM DEAD TO WORSE so I can get started reading right away. I've wanted to read them for quite awhile. Almost everyone I know raves about them. Now that I've been reminded of the author's name, I'll be able to start collecting them all. Thank you for the chance to win one.

I love Charlaine's Sookie Stackhouse series. She writes a great paranormal story with every kind of creature making an appearance, with a touch of southern charm and laugher that makes these books such a treat to read. I would love to win her new release.

I love this series and wish Charlaine would come to Michigan. I'm still waiting to get my hands on a copy of her new novel, the library is taking their sweet time and letting others read it before me! Boo Hoo.

Anyway, I love this series and it's great that you're getting back into book blogging. I've found it has saved my sanity over the last couple of months, since I started my own. Having a 15 month old at home is exhausting and I love being able to sit down and read a good book and then tell the world about it.
